The visit to the Hoàng Su Phì region and "Nậm Lỳ Retreat" was the most significant part of the trip our two families took in Vietnam. It was a thrilling experience, full of intense moments and views, to be remembered for years to come. Thank you! We spent five days in this isolated and wonderful natural hidden gem, taking the hiking trek that the "Nậm Lỳ Retreat" founder, Lee Don, organized for us in the area: This included (among other things) strenuous and awe-inspiring walks in wild nature and among rice terraces, swimming beside powerful waterfalls along the way, visiting to a Sunday market where we were the only tourists, residing at family stilt homes, enjoying wonderful meals that were the highlight of the Vietnam trip for us also from a culinary perspective, and even harvesting rice with one of the families. Praise to Lee Don for taking on the task of establishing the retreat and organizing the treks in such a special and unknown area. His dedicated and personal guidance from afar (he lives in Hà Nội), along the route and many months before during its planning, creates a feeling of familiarity and companionship that makes the heart appeased. It is impossible not to mention the two guides who accompanied us: Trường, an English-speaking young man from Hà Giang, sensitive, emotionally involved, caring and full of great knowledge.
